Civilization going MMO "really intriguing idea" proclaims Sid Meier
The gaming pioneer Sid Meier has thrown Civ fans a massively online tease, could the Civilization hordes invade and conquer MMO?
He says the Firaxis team are "spending time thinking about how we could make it the fun addictive experience Civ players expect." What about us scurvy buccaneers?
"I'm exploring lots of exciting ideas right now. A Civ MMO is a really intriguing idea and we're spending time thinking about how we could make it the fun addictive experience Civ players expect. Beyond that I have some new ideas that are quite different from games I've made in the past – and that's all I'm able to tell you right now. Stand by for more information in the near future," replied Sid Meier in an interview with GameDaily.
Civilization’s fate on the Wii is still uncertain but apparently they "have no intentions of turning our backs on it."
More importantly, as I'm sure many sea faring gamers would agree, Sid was asked about a possible return to the Pirates! series to which he replied much to our agony: "Not at the moment. We hear from lots of folks that they'd really like for us to make more games in the Pirates! series. It's not currently in our plans, but we'll add your vote to the list and keep you posted"
