God
all preferences aside... every middle/higher end intel cpu rapes its amd equivalent in nearly every single benchmark & real time test and usually costs just maybe 10% more

AMD used to be better in price/performance but I think atm Intel leads the market in both...

Intel forever.
Only one AMD Athlon, but it was always too hot...

I prefer AMD and i think they're the best. I have 2 pc's and i had in general 3 cpu's - 1 Intel's and 2 AMD's [ my last one is AMD Athlon 64 X2 (sAM2) 6000 + (3.0GHz)/2x1Mb ]. So i can say from personal tests and opinion AMD works better with most of the games and programs, the greatly thing is you can overclocked it how many times you want, but with Intel cpu's that's impossible. Other assest for AMD are their prices who are much cheap than this of Intel. So get AMD cpu's and don't think more.

Since 6th grade I built my own computer and just kept upgrading it since then. Ive went through 2 processors. Both AMD, both dual core. And this is going absolutely great.

The processor I have now is
AMD Dual Core 6400+ 3.2GHz Windsor

3.2 is impressive. I got it around Christmas time and when I bought it, it was the strongest on the market (might still be today I don't know) and yes it was stronger than the strongest available intel quad core (2.8 I think).

Intel processors are definitely better than AMD and if you're getting AMD processor make sure you have good cooling inside.

According to the charts Intel beats AMD but from experience AMD processors provide a more consistent performance. My laptop is an AMD and operates the same speed all the time. My Intel slows down sometimes when stuff isn't in its cache yet.
